Dr. Gonzalez has been practicing pulmonary medicine for 28 years. She earned her medical
degree at the University of Puerto Rico. She then completed Internal Medicine residency and
Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship at the University of Puerto Rico. She began her career
in Pulmonary and Critical Care medicine in private practice in Puerto Rico. She moved to the
United States and worked for University of Pittsburgh Medical Center and Uniontown Hospital in
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania before moving to the Jacksonville area in 2018. She has been
practicing in Clay County since this time. She enjoys seeing a variety of sleep and pulmonary
patients. She has special interest in severe asthma and interstitial lung disease.

Dr. Hovda has been practicing pulmonary, sleep medicine, and critical care medicine in the
Jacksonville and Clay County area since 2014. Prior to starting her career locally, she
completed her internal medicine residency at UNC Chapel Hill followed by fellowship in
Pulmonary and Critical Care at the University of Chicago. Dr. Hovda then opted for an
additional year of training and completed a sleep medicine fellowship at the University of
Chicago. During her time in practice, Dr. Hovda has developed expertise in the management of
the Inspire Upper Airway Stimulator for the treatment of obstructive sleep apnea. She enjoys
caring for both sleep and pulmonary patients.
